알코올은 히드록실기 성분을 가지는 화학물질로 R-OH로 표기되면 R의 탄소수에 따라 적으면 저급, 많으면 고급으로 분류됩니다. 

화장품에 사용되는 알코올은 에탄올, 이스프로필 알코올, 글리세린, 프로필렌 글리콜, 솔비톨, 세팅알코올이 있습니다. 

하나하나 살펴보도록 하겠습니다. 

에탄올은 곡류, 당의 발효에 의해 추출되는 것입니다. 무색투명의 휘발성 액체로 물과 오일에 용해됩니다. 피부에 도포되었을 때 휘발성이 있어 화장품에 사용하면 피부에 청량감을 주고, 모공을 수축하여 수렴작용을 합니다. 농도가 약 70% 내외일 때 살균, 소독작용의 효과가 좋습니다. 

이스프로필 알코올은 항박테리아 작용에 뛰어나다고 합니다. 글리세린은 글리세롤이라고도하며, 보습력이 좋습니다.  크림이나 로션의 퍼짐성 개선에 사용되며 많은 용량 사용 시 자극이 되거나 여드름을 유발할 수 있습니다. 

프로필렌 글리콘은 흡습성은 있으나 휘발성이 없고, 열과 일광에 안정하나 가연성이 있으며 끓는 점은 약 185~189도 입니다. 글리세린과 비교했을때 용해력이 우수하며 곰팡이 번식을 방지하며 발효되지 않는 특징이 있습니다. 

솔비톨은 포도당을 환원하여 제조하는 것으로 D-sorbitol, D-Glucitol이라고 불리는 6가지 당알콜입니다. 백색의 작은 알 모양으로 상쾌한 청량감과 천연의 감미를 가지고 있어 식품첨가물로도 사용됩니다. 화장품에서는 보습제로 사용되며 습윤조정효과가 좋으며 보향성 우수합니다. 

세틸알코올, 라우릴 알코올 등의 고급알코올은 탄소수가 많아 지용성으로써 유성원료로 사용됩니다. 피부 유연제와 유화안정보조제로 사용됩니다. 

Alcohol is a chemical that has hydrochemistry and is labeled R-L.L., and it is categorized as low-grade in many cases depending on the number of carbon in R. 

Alcohol used in cosmetic products is ethanol, Isprofile Alcohol, Glycerin, Propylene glycol, Sorbitol, and Configuration Alcohol. 

Let's take a look at them one by one. 

Ethanol is produced by the fermentation of grain, sugar. It is a colorless, transparent, volatile liquid that is dissolved in water and oil. When applied to the skin, it is volatile so that if used in cosmetic products, it gives the skin a sense of freshness and contracts pores and collects them. Sterilizing and disinfection actions are effective when the concentration is around 70 %. 

Isprofile Alcohol is said to be excellent at anti-balance operations. Glycerine is also called GI and it has a good capacity for conditioning.  It is used to improve the spread of creams and lotion and can cause irritation or acne when using large amounts of capacity. 

Propylene glycole is absorbent, but it is volatile, stable in heat and sunlight, but combustible, and the boiling point is about 185 to 189 degrees Celsius. Compared to glycerine, it is highly soluble, protects against mould propagation, and does not ferment. 

Sorbitol is a product made by reducing glucose, and it is a set of six sugars called D-sorbitol and D-glucitol. It is a small white egg shape and has a refreshing freshness and natural sweeteners, so it is also used as a food additive. It is used as a moisturizing agent in cosmetic products, and has a good wet adjustment effect and is excellent for resistivity. 

Advanced alcohol, such as setel alcohol and rauryl alcohol, is carbon-powered and is used as a planetary material. It is used as a skin conditioner and as an oil safety supplement.
