썬크림은 기능성화장품의 일종입니다. 

주로 유해한 자외선의 침투를 막으며 피부의 보호기능을 가지고 있습니다. 

쉽게 볼 수 있는 썬크림 또는 선블록 화장품들이 

자외선 차단용 화장품입니다. 자외선 차단용 화장품에는 

자외선 산란제와 자외선 흡수제가 있습니다. 

자외선 산란제는 산화아연 등과 같이 무기염류를 사용하며 

자외선이 물리적인 산란작용을 이용해서 피부에 침투하는 것을 막아줍니다. 

반면에 벤조페논 등과 같이 유기염류를 사용하여 화학적인 방법으로 

자외선을 흡수시켜 피부에 침투하는 것을 막아줍니다. 

일반적으로 현재 사용하고 있는 화장품 제품에서는 

주로 자외선 흡수제를 많이 사용하고 있습니다. 

천연화장품으로는 자외선 산란제가 선호됩니다. 

자외선 차단용 화장품의 성분을 살표보면 물리적으로는

산화아연, 이산화티타늄, 산화세륨 등이 있으며, 

화학적 차단제로는 벤조페논, 옥틸디메틸파바. 살리실산. 파라아미노안식향산 등이 있습니다. 

그런데 화학적 차단제로 사용되는 벤조페논은 피부에 대한 

안전성이 좋지 않은 것으로 알려져 있습니다. 

파라아미노안식향산은 흡수효과는 좋지만 마찬가지로 

안전성에 문제가 있는 것으로 관련 자료에 나와있습니다. 

최근에 와서는 천연물질을 이용하여 자외선 차단제를 

제조하여 많이 사용되고 있는데 

감마-오리자놀, 상백피추출물, 은행잎추출물, 황금추출물 등이 있습니다. 

일반적으로 자외선 차단용 화장품의 레시피입니다. 

폴리옥시에틸렌경화피마자유, 정제수, 클리세린, 산화아연, 에탄올, 아산화티타늄, 폴리에틸렌글리콜, 향료, 프로필렌글리콜 등이 있습니다.
